How To Install Telnet On Windows

You attempt to use the telnet command on a Windows machine for the first time and get the following message, “Telnet Not Recognized By Internal or External Command, Operable Program or Batch File”.

Solution:

Telnet feature on a Windows machine is not enabled by default. You have to go to, Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features then click on “Turn Windows feature on or off” link from the left hand pane.

(Below) place a check mark on the “Telnet Client” box then hit “Ok” button.
