For those aspiring bloggers who dream of making some money from blogging in WordPress.com site and quitting your day job, please hold off on those plans. WordAds has one obvious sticking point that may frustrate aspiring bloggers.

You have to have certain amount of web traffic to your web site before WordAds  can accept your request. If it falls short of that, your request stays on “pending” status until this “magic” amount has been met. They do not tell you what this “magic” number is but from my research, this number looks to be around 15,000 visits per month.

I too am a bit annoyed of this impasse,  but the idea of getting paid per “impression” (per page visit) instead of per ad “click” has given me something to work towards.

It took approximately 2-3 days to here back from folks at WordAds but this is the canned email message I’ve received from them,

“Thank you for your interest in WordAds. We review all sites for inclusion in our WordAds program. However, because of the volume of applications, we are unable at this time to reply individually to all applicants.”

“Our advertising partners have minimum traffic requirements, and when your site traffic meets these requirements, we’ll be in touch.
